A man from Donegal who became a Lotto winner states he has not informed his parents yet
A young man from Donegal who became a Lotto winner of €283,274 has confessed that he has not told his parents about it yet. The 20-something-year-old man bought the ticket in Carndonagh, Co. Donegal, Church Road at G & S Supermarket.
He said, ‘As I examined the figures, my heart was racing.’
‘So far I have not told anyone, and after obtaining my cheque, I planned to give my parents a surprise. But, as I sit here now, I am trying to decide how long I will manage to keep this to myself.’
In the meantime, the €4.4 million prizewinner has not yet revealed themselves. The National Lottery CEO, Dermot Griffin, informed the Irish Mirror that it is possible that the winner is aware but is not in any hurry.
‘They might be seeking financial advice or trying to absorb the news. Also, they may have taken a vacation immediately. All these have been experienced previously with past winners.’
