A Lotto millionaire can tour the world, ‘There is no problem at all.’
Tonight, a new RTE documentary seeks to find out whether becoming a Lottery winner is as great as it is said to be.
The show encounters some individuals who are among the ones who have won top Lotto prizes in the previous 30 years and gets to know what changes they have experienced in their lives; whether positive or negative.
In 2015 Ann Canavan from Donegal, who has four children became a EuroMillions winner of £1million-sterling (€1.15 million) after buying a ticket from neighboring Derry.
In addition, the family won an exceptional vacation to a Cambodian tropical private island.
Commenting about her new millionaire status, Anne said, ‘I have not experienced any big change in my life. But I admit some positive changes have occurred.
‘I still live in the same house and town. However, the big advantage is that I am able to go on unplanned vacations like Russia, Cuba and Jamaica.
Anne, who is an inventor admits that even now she finds it odd to consider herself as a millionaire.
According to her, ‘It has not completely sank in yet. At times, I remember it and smile.’
Anne talked about one benefit of becoming a winner; now she has money to invest in improving the products she has formed, such as Snotblot. It is a wristband where tissues are kept for children with runny noses.
Also, she is working with Sharon McGillion, who is a fellow inventor on a variety of gift bags known as Pressie Pouch.
Anne stated, ‘I am a natural inventor, but before I won the EuroMillions, the resources I had were extremely scarce, to develop my initial concept.’
The first weekly draw in Ireland was started in 1988 by the National Lottery.
From that time, euro jackpot wins have exceeded 800 million.
Anne also said, ‘There is no problem at all. I have received blessings in abundance and I am very fortunate and totally thankful for everything I have.’
